Patni Computer Systems has joined Mainframe Migration Alliance (MMA), an industry representation enabled by Microsoft and industry partners, to help customers migrate workload off the mainframe and onto the Microsoft Windows platform.

"The alliance will give us the opportunity of working even closer with Microsoft in providing the solutions required to transition these applications to flexible and affordable Microsoft platforms," said Harish Bhat, senior vice-president, ISV Business Unit, Patni.

MMA helps clients migrate applications to Windows platform and offers customers information to achieve scalability, reliability and security achieved on the mainframe. This will also deliver greater organisational agility, while significantly lowering overall IT costs.

The alliance uses Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft .NET technologies.

Patni Computer Systems is a global IT Services provider servicing 2,000 clients globally.
