Pay the army to vacate idle spectrum, operators tell govt

Cellular operators who are seeking additional spectrum say that the government ought to pay the army to vacate the idle spectrum lying with it.

Cellular operators argue that the government could easily pay the army from the huge licence fees contributed by operators. They state that they have paid approximately Rs 20,000 crores as licence fees.

The Indian army is willing to vacate the spectrum lying idle with it for the usage of cellular operators
