Pentair Inc enters the Rajasthan market

Pentair Inc., part of a Rs 12,500-crore group and one of the world leaders in water technology, serving customers in over 50 countries, has entered the commercial, institutional, and residential water purification market in Rajasthan.

The company recently launched "Pentair CIRO Systems," "Pentair Intelligent UV-Water Disinfection System," and "Pentair Home RO" in Jaipur.

Addressing a press conference here recently, Sanjay Sapra, director, sales and marketing, said, "The need to treat and manage the water at commercial places and institutions is growing every day and Pentair Water aims to establish the standards for products and services in this market. The company will offer solutions and products the market needs rather than what it has. The market has a very low penetration level because end-users are still unaware of reverse osmosis and its benefits. Most organisations today are not sure about how they should meet their water requirements. The Pentair CIRO system solves the problem by delivering water at 3 paise per litre over a three-year period."

Talking about the marketing plans, Ajay Sharma, head of sales and services, residential business, said, "As each home facing bad water problems can be a potential customer for Pentair Home RO System, we have a huge market in this region. Pentair's Home RO System and other home products will be available through a strong dealer-distributor and service network," Sharma added.

Pentair Water India's turnover is Rs 110 crore and the firm expects to raise it to Rs 1,000 crore by 2007. From the residential business, the firm turns in Rs 4 crore and expects to raise it to Rs 125 crore by 2007. The residential business will contribute 12.5 per cent share of the total turnover.

Pentair, with initial thrust on industrial water management, entered the Indian market in 1998 through its 100 per cent subsidiary Pentair Water India Private Ltd., and established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Goa, and offices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Goa.

Pentair CIRO Systems and Pentair Intelligent UV-Water Disinfection Systems are meant for use in schools, colleges, nursing homes, restaurants, canteens and shopping-malls whereas Pentair Home RO is for homes and small offices.
