Premium jeans and casual wear segment player Pepe Jeans today said it has appointed Kavindra Mishra as chief executive officer from July 5.

Mishra will be responsible for growth of the existing business portfolio as well as designing effective strategies and embedding them tactfully in the broad spectrum of the global strategy, the company said in a statement.

"His appointment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Pepe Jeans' journey. With his rich experience in strategic planning and retail industry, he is confident of executing a roadmap to achieve the next phase of growth for this company," the statement said.

Mishra started his retail career in 1999 as area sales manager at Madura Coats and continued his career at Madura Garments as brand manager for Allen Solly.

In 2006, he joined Tommy Hilfiger as vice president, where he was responsible for their entire retail vertical in India. In 2009, he joined United Colors of Benetton (UCB) to be their commercial director.

In 2011, Mishra moved out of UCB to be part of the founding team of Zovi.Com, India's first online apparel and lifestyle portal.

"His drive for challenges continues and this brings him to Pepe Jeans India as its CEO, after the death of its managing director Chetan Shah in November last year," the statement added.
