Gatorade will be available across gymnasiums, health and fitness centres, aerobic centres, hotels with gym facilities, sports clubs and top-end retail outlets in Chennai.

As part of the education programme, specially trained teams of professional nutritionists and physical trainers will be visiting various 'points of sweat'.

These points include gymnasiums, health and fitness centres, aerobic centres, hotels with gym facilities and sports clubs.

The education programme is being run by Ramji Srinivasan, a fitness expert and former national sprinter. Initially, he will be actively involved in the science-based programme in gymnasiums and sports academies, and subsequently in schools and universities.

According to Subroto Chattopadhyay, executive director, Pepsi, "The health and fitness movement in India has clearly gained momentum with consumers embracing a lifestyle that includes sports and exercise as part of the feel good way of life. The scientifically-proven Gatorade formula keeps athletes and active people hydrated in every scenario. Elite athletes like Michael Jordan, and Brett Lee have contributed to this research."

Gatorade is being endorsed in India by cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Irfan Pathan.
