Perishable commodities' futures on NCDEX soon

The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) is all set to kick off futures contracts on perishable horticultural commodities including onion and potato in two weeks.

"Contracts would be available for trade for July 10 settlement," an exchange official said. The exchange for agri commodities trade may announce the finalised date of launch of these contracts in a day or two.

Meanwhile, NCDEX has postponed the launch of Gur October 2006 contracts until further notice.The exchange has also withdrawn Sugar S (Vashi) contracts with immediate effect.

"Trading and clearing members of the exchange are requested to note that Sugar S Grade (Vashi) contracts are withdrawn by the exchange and no new contracts in Sugar S Grade (Vashi) shall be launched for trading till further notice," an official circular issued today by the exchange said.
