A Peru-based company has expressed interest in setting up a soya-based soft drink plant in Punjab with an initial investment of $10 million under a mega project scheme. |
"The company, Peru San Miquel Del, will also process various types of fruits to manufacture soft drinks for domestic as well as export consumption," said acting Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to India, Carlos A Irgoyen Farno, while holding a meeting with Punjab Chief Secretary, R I Singh here today. |
The ambassador, along with a delegation of entrepreneurs from Peru, was on a visit to Punjab to explore investment opportunities in the state, said an official release issued here. |
Stating that Peru was very keen on availing itself of various opportunities to increase trade co-operation with Punjab, he said various companies from Peru wanted to invest in the agro-processing, retail and reality sector. |
The state chief secretary informed the ambassador that the Punjab government had notified a new policy of mega projects to encourage investment in the state under which a series of benefits were offered to investors. |
