Phillips plans to export TV sets to Russia

The consumer electronics division of Phillips India Ltd is planning to export TV sets to Russia and other CIS countries.
 
The company is at present exporting radio sets to South Africa and East African countries. The company has recently bagged an export order from Russia.
 
"We will be exporting TV sets to Russia. The first consignment is expected to be dispatched within a couple of weeks. TV sets includes 12 inches flat television and 20 inches television. We are already into exporting of radio sets to South Africa and East African countries. Our radio sets are in good demand in those countries," said D Shivkumar, vice president, consumer electronics, Phillips India, on Tuesday.
 
The consumer electronics division of Phillips India has reported a turnover of Rs 700 crore and has already reported a growth of 31 per cent in the first quarter of the current financial year ended on March 31.
 
The company is expecting to continue the same growth for the year as well to achieve a target of over Rs 1,000 crore sales at the end of the current financial year.
 
The overall turnover of Phillips India was around Rs 2,500 crore at the end of the last financial year.
 
"The company is expecting over 15 per cent of its turnover to come from exports in the current financial year. Apart from exports, the company is trying to capitalise on domestic sales by improving physical reach and distribution network throughout the country,"" said Shivkumar.
 
Shivkumar said, "We have world-class products, which are competitively priced and available with easy finance schemes. The company has recently introduced various new products and has tied up with various financial institutions to provide easy finance options to its consumers."
