Police seize Raju's secret locker

The Andhra Pradesh police today seized a secret locker belonging to former chairman of Satyam Computer Services B Ramalinga Raju. The locker has been seized at Karur Vysya Bank, Jubilee Hills branch by the CID, which is investigating the Rs 7,800 crore financial fraud in Satyam Computers.

According to the police, the locker is maintained and operated in the name of one Shanthi.

It was opened about 18 months ago for storing 'Daily Funds Reports' (DFR) of all the family members of Rajus and the report contains confidential money transactions of the family members and numerous companies run by them, the official said.

 

He said the police also seized Rs 7.5 lakh cash, one mini disk containing DFRs of family members, a photocopy of passport of Krishna G Palepu, non-executive Director of Satyam Computer Services Ltd.

The locker on an average was operated twice a month.

The CID also seized blank registration-cum-declaration form of UTI Bank signed by Krishna G Palepu and blank plot registration GPA form.

The mandate for opening the locker was given to one Pitchuka Nagarjuna Anand Kumar, working as an accountant in SRSR Advisory Services Private Limited since 1999, by the Raju brothers.

He also looked after the personal accounts of nine members of the Raju family, who have their accounts in various banks, apart from the treasury related aspects.

"The locker was secreted as per the instructions of B Suryanaryana Raju, SRSR director and brother of Ramalinga Raju," the police said.
