Posco sets up office in Orissa village

POSCO-India, the subsidiary of South Korean steel major POSCO, has opened a new office in Kujanga village at Jagatsinghpur in Orissa to get closer to the villagers in its proposed project site and periphery.
 
This new office is dedicated to dissemination of factual information regarding rehabilitation and resettlement of locals going to be affected by the project and aims to address issues and concerns of people related to the project.
 
Speaking at the inauguration of the office, Soung Sik Cho, CMD, POSCO-India, said, "Our goal is to design an adequate and fair rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) package and to adopt a suitable corporate social responsibility programme thereby extending direct and indirect benefits to local people".
