Power tariff hiked

Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Authority (APERC) today revised the power tariff under select slabs and categories of consumers, including domestic house holds and industries.

Under domestic category , Rs 1.45 per unit up to 50 unit slab, Rs 2.80 per unit up to 100 units, Rs 3.05 per unit up to 200 units, Rs 4.75 per unit under 300 units, Rs 6 per unit under 500 units slab and Rs 6.25 per unit for those who consume over and above 500 units per month.

Power tariff for industries under HT category remained low, with Rs 2.97 per unit on drawals at 232 KV, Rs 3.25 per unit at 33 KV, Rs 3.52 per unit at 11 Kv level. The same for lights and fans will be Rs 4.67 per unit at 132 KV level, Rs 4.70 at 33 KV level and Rs 3.52 per unit at 11 KV level. For small scale sector, the tariff would be Rs 4.13 per unit in normal days and Rs 4.80 per unit in off seasonal supply of power.

 

For commercial establishments under general category, Rs 3.85 per unit up to 50 units, Rs 6.20 per unit for 51-100 units, Rs 6.50 per unit for consumption of 100 and above units.

The regulator has fixed Rs 4.10, Rs 4.30 and Rs 4.80 at 132KV, 33Kv and 11 KV level for the Ferro Alloys Units and Rs 4.45 per unit has been fixed for railway traction.

The new rates will come into effect from April 1, 2011.
