Paper Products reports 21% increase in net profit |
The Paper Products (PPL), India's leading flexible packaging company, reported a 21 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 9.16 crore in the fourth quarter ended December 2007 as compared to Rs 7.57 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. |
East India Hotels net at Rs 72 cr |
East India Hotels (EIH), member of the The Oberoi Group, posted a net profit of Rs 72.40 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 61.94 crore for the corresponding period last year. |
During the same period the total income increased to Rs 326.85 from Rs 278.25 crore for same period last year, an increase of 17.4 per cent. The net profit from ordinary activities after tax for the nine month period increased to Rs151.85 crore from Rs 110.82 crores an increase of 37 per cent. |
Commenting on the resullts, East India Hotels Chairman PRS Oberoi said, "The average room rates and occupancies have shown a rising trend during the last quarter. Business for the fourth quarter is expected to be better than during the corresponding period last year". |
Aurobindo net profit dips 8% to Rs 55 cr |
Hyderabad-based generic pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) manufacturer, Aurobindo Pharma, witnessed a slight decline of eight per cent in its net profit to Rs 55.25 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007, as compared with Rs 60.12 crore during the corresponding quarter last year on a standalone basis. |
Total income, however, grew 7.35 per cent to Rs 549.52 crore during the quarter, as against Rs 511.86 crore in the year-ago period. |
Aarti Inds net jumps 233% |
Aarti Industries, one of the leading manufacturers of basic chemicals, speciality chemicals and pharmaceuticals, has reported a 233 per cent jump in net profit in the third quarter of the current fiscal at Rs 13.8 crore from Rs 4.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. |
