Pradeep Mittal is Essar Minerals new MD & CEO

Ruias-led Essar Group today said it has appointed Pradeep Mittal as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of its mining business, Essar Minerals (EML).

"Mittal will be responsible for developing and mining of coal and iron ore blocks that the group has acquired," an Essar Group statement said here.

Prior to this, Mittal was the Managing Director of the mining and coal trading business with Adani Group, it added.

At present, Ruias-led Essar Group is implementing three coal-based power plants with a capacity of 3,600 MW and is expanding its steel capacity to 9.5 million tonne in India, it said.

 

The mining business under EML has been formed to meet the growing need for raw materials of the group, the statement said, adding Mittal brings with him a rich experience of over 30 years in area of energy and mineral trade.
