Priknit Apparels Private Ltd, a Ludhiana-based company, is on an expansion spree in Rajasthan. The company, which currently has four outlets in Jaipur, is planning to launch three more in the city.

"We have opened stores in Raja Park, Bani Park and Vidhyadhar Nagar areas," a company official said. On average, Priknit's each showroom is spread over 1,000-1,200 square feet. "These stores are in addition to the existing 50 stores spread across northern India," the official said.

Omesh Seghal, retail head of Priknit, said the company was planning to open 23 more stores in India by October-end. "Our plan is to have 100 stores all over the country by December this year," he added.

"In Rajasthan, we plan to open stores in Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bhilwara and Bikaner soon," Seghal added. He said after establishing its leadership in north India, the company now was planning to spread its wings in east, west and central India.

"We are eyeing Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat markets," he said.

Priknit started its business in 1983. Initially the company was manufacturing woolen clothes, jackets and t-shirts. In 2004, Priknit Apparels entered into Indian retail markets with its own brand "Priknit."
