Luggage maker Princeware International on Wednesday said that they are evaluating the possibility of starting a plant for manufacturing soft luggage at its unit in union territory Daman near Gujarat.
"We are currently importing soft luggage from China. We are doing a feasibility study on whether we can manufacture soft luggage here at our manufacturing plant in Daman near Gujarat. There are no immediate plans but we are evaluating the possibility of starting a plant at our current manufacturing unit itself," national sales manager for Princeware international Sanjeev Mehrotra said.
He was speaking on the occasion of opening of Princeware's first store in Ahmedabad and said that the company has plans to open stores in Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot to tap into the tourism market.

He said the current turnover of the company stands at around Rs 500 crore, of which luggage business contributes Rs 50 crore. Eighty per cent of luggage business is contributed by soft luggage with the rest coming from hard luggage.
