Procter & Gamble, Gillette, Subex Azure quarterly results

Procter & Gamble net at Rs 21.41 crore
 
Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (PGHHCL) today reported a net profit of Rs 21.41 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, 19.32 per cent lower compared with Rs 26.54 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2006. The numbers for the two quarters are not comparable as the corresponding period ended March 31, 2006 included sales and expenditure of the detergent business which was transferred effective from October 1, 2005 to Procter & Gamble Home Products. The profit after tax has grown by 10 per cent versus the year-ago period, after exclusion of one-time-items from the corresponding quarter. Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 122.92 crore, 8.9 per cent higher compared with Rs 112.89 crore in the corresponding 2006 quarter.
 
Gillette Q4 profit at Rs 28.81 crore
 
Personal care products maker Gillette India today reported a net profit of Rs 28.81 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 compared with a net loss of Rs 1.52 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 121.66 crore compared with Rs 37.95 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2006. Financial results for this quarter are not comparable with the corresponding quarter in 2006 as the company was in the process of getting integrated with Procter & Gamble as part of a global acquisition.
 
Subex Azure Q4 net rises 3-fold
 
Riding high on increased sales, telecom software products firm Subex Azure posted a net profit of Rs 27.60 crore for Q4 2006-07, three times higher compared with the corresponding period last year (Rs 8.03 crore). The company gained Rs 15.73 crore on account of deferred tax, which made a significant contribution to PAT. Total sales during the quarter touched Rs 88.15 crore, up 78.3 per cent over Q4 2005-06. "The product line witnessed tremendous growth during Q4 (84.6 per cent) contributing significantly towards the revenue," Subex Azure CEO Subash Menon said. Revenue from services also increased by 67.31 per cent over Q4 2006 to touch Rs 30.30 crore. Profit after interest and before depreciation and taxation stood at Rs 17.08 crore compared with Rs 12.41 crore during Q4 2006.
