PSL bags orders from Bangladesh, Oman

PSL Ltd, the flagship company of the PSL Group, has bagged two export orders worth Rs 75 crore to supply pipes for projects in Bangladesh and Oman and the pipes will be manufactured at PSL's new plant at Kandla.
 
The company has bagged an order to supply pipes for the Nalka-Bogra Gas Transmission Project in Bangaldesh. The company bagged the offer against stiff competition from international companies like Thiessen Mannesman Handel of Germany, LG International of Korea, Mitco of Japan and China Petroleum Technology and Development Corporation of China, among others.
 
The Oman order is for the supply of pipelines for Bidbid Fanja and Samail town.
 
Ashok Punj, managing director of PSL said, "The Bangladesh and Oman orders reinforce PSL's strategic thrust on exports, at the same time confirms our competitive position in South-East Asia and Middle East markets.''
 
Punj said that the Bangladesh order, worth Rs 14 crore, was to supply API grade X60 pipes for the Nalka-Bogra gas transmission. The company would supply approximately 7,000 tonne of pipes for 55 km of high-pressure gas pipelines. The Oman project is worth Rs 58 crore. "The company will supply approximately 18,000 tonne of API 5L grade B pipes to cover a distance of 61.63 km as per requirement.''
 
PSL has already commenced production at their HSAW Pipe Mills near Kandla Port and is quite confident of completing both contracts well within the permitted time schedule.
 
PSL is engaged in various types of pipe coating and pipe manufacturing at Daman, Kandla, Nani Chirai, Chennai and Vishakhapatnam.
 
In its coating business, the company undertakes coal tar enamel coating, internal epoxy coating and three layered polyethylene coating. These coated pipes are used in transporting gas, oil, water and petroleum.
