Protest against RSB Metaltech Ltd’s proposed alumina refinery project took an ugly turn when locals of Kalyansingpur block of Rayagada district demolished the podium constructed by the company for the purpose of public hearing to get environmental clearance.
The hearing was disrupted as protesters shouted slogans and demolished the podium. We will not allow the public hearing as we will be losing our livelihoods if the project comes up, said a local resident.
