Pune gets Maharashtra's first American Business Corner

The corner will connect Pune-based companies with US companies interested in doing business together

US Commercial Service in association with Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Pune Chapter(IACC) has set up American Business Corner (ABC) in Pune which is a the first in Maharashtra.  ABC is  a leap forward for the industries of the region to connect with American businesses. Thomas Vajda, US Consul General in Mumbai today inaugurated ABC in Pune today.

The corner will act as a clearing house to connect Pune-based companies with U.S. companies interested in doing business together.  As a platform where businesses can access information and meet with each other, the new Business Corner will promote greater trade and investment between the United States and India.  There are now 14 American Business Corner offices in India out of which three are in the western region. Apart from German and British companies, US has a significant presence in Pune particularly in IT and BPO, hospitality and manufacturing sector sector.  
 

“The American Business Corner is an extension of the consulate and will facilitate and promote greater cooperation for trade and investment between two countries . There are now 14 American Business Corner offices in India out of which three are in the western region.

The opening of this corner demonstrates the United States’ strong commitment to promoting greater bilateral trade and investment.  We hope putting an American Business Corner in Pune signals to the U.S. and Indian business communities that we are confident our economic relationship with western India will continue to grow in the coming years, says Thomas Vajda, US Consul General in Mumbai.
