Engineering and construction major Punj Lloyd today said its Saudi Arabia-based group firm Dayim Punj Lloyd has secured a contract from state oil company -- Saudi Aramco for construction of a pipeline.

"The contract is for engineering, procurement and construction of offsite pipelines for Saudi Aramco's Yanbu Export Refinery Project (now named Red Sea Refining Company) being set up on the Western coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia along the Red sea," the company said in a statement.

However, neither the statement nor the company officials furnished any information regarding the value of the contract.

The Red Sea Refinery once operational, will process 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Arabian heavy crude and produce 90,000 bpd of gasoline, 263,000 bpd of ultra low sulfur diesel, 6300 metric tonne per day (MTPD) of coke and 1200 MTPD of sulfur.

Dayim Punj Lloyd CEO Adnan Abduljawad said, "This is our first major pipeline project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will be a foundation stone for exploring more opportunities in the sector and strengthening our footprint in the market."

Punj Lloyd is a diversified international conglomerate offering engineering, procurement and construction services in energy and infrastructure.

Saudi Aramco, on the other hand is an integrated global petroleum enterprise and manages the largest proven reserves of conventional crude oil globally -- 260.1 billion barrels, and the fourth-largest gas reserves -- 275.2 trillion cubic feet.
