The Punjab Government today gave nod for the revised bid offer of power major Lanco Infratech for setting up 1,320 MW Rajpura Thermal Power project.
A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, a release here said.
Punjab Chief Secretary R I Singh had negotiated the tariff with Lanco Infratech and the revised tariff submitted by the company stands at Rs 3.309 per unit.
The state is anticipating to become power surplus in next three years by generating additional capacity of 6,480 MW and also set up four super thermal plants.
At present, the total power generation capacity in the state is 6,609 MW against the peak demand of 7,428 MW, the statement added.
The Cabinet has approved a slew of concessions for affordable housing and granting relief to the promoters and developers in response to a memorandum submitted by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association India and National Real Estate Development Council, the spokesperson said in the statement.
