PVR scouts for UP towns

Leading cinema multiplex chain PVR is scouting for major towns in Uttar Pradesh for launching its operations.

The company already has presence in Ghaziabad, Allahabad and Lucknow with a total of 24 screens.

“We are looking at major towns in UP with high movie propensity such as Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Noida and Moradabad for opening multiplexes,” PVR Limited Group President and CEO Pramod Arora told the media here.

He said the company had provisioned to spend Rs 100 crore every year to expand the number of screens across India. PVR is open to both organic and inorganic growth to expand its footprint. At present, PVR has 142 screens spread over 18 cities.
