Country's leading online classifieds platform Quikr has launched a diagnostic app for mobile phones that will allow its users to remotely assess the condition of devices listed on its platform.

QuikrScanner will run 20 tests to evaluate condition of Android devices including the condition of the battery, functioning of front and rear cameras and connectivity.

The company hopes the information will help people make more informed decisions when buying a used device listed on its platform.

"C2C is a strategic category for us and as leaders in this space with over 30 million unique visitors on our platform, we have always strived to build trust and safety in transactions between our buyers and sellers," said Anurag Saran, chief product officer at Quikr, in a statement.

Within a short time of launching the app, Quikr claims over 20 percent of its mobile listings already have the QuikrScanner report attached to them. The tool is already built into the company's mobile app, so the quality of the device is seamlessly made part of the listing.

Sellers listing products from a desktop and while using the Quikr's mobile site can also install the app on their device in order to get their devices rated. The company hopes its diagnostic tool along with assurance through warranty on devices bought on its platform will draw people onto its platform.

"The market for both new and pre-owned mobile phones is growing rapidly which is also evident from our own platform. We also offer warranty for pre-owned phones, and the warranty will further add to the confidence of buyers while transacting on Quikr," added Saran.
