Raghav Bahl-founded Quintillion Media has invested an undisclosed sum in The News Minute, the south India focused news website.

The funds would be used to expand into local language news and views content such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, said Dhanya Rajendran, co-founder and managing director The News Minute. She did not dislose the funds raised.

Quintillion Media runs Qunit.com, the mobile first news site.

News Minute was founded in Bengaluru last year by Chitra Subramaniam, former Hindu journalist who covered the Bofors scandal extensively, former television journalist Dhanya Rajendran and Vignesh Vellore, a former executive at a technology firm.

"There are many local issues that is untouchable even for regional language publications. We want to cover them," said Rajendran. "Also, there are several civic stories concrning in Bengaluru that is of interest to people in chennai. It is the same vice versa".

Mint reported first the news about the funding.

Rajendran said that the firm stretched as much with bootstrapping and now wants to build the brand both with content and using digital marketing.
