Reliance Infrastructure (R-Infra), a unit of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), has been empanelled as a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition/Distribution Management System (SCADA/DMS) consultant.
The SCADA/DMS is to be implemented in urban areas with a population of more than 400,000. SCADA/DMS helps power utilities monitor and control the electrical network and co-ordinate the maintenance and fault rectification activities of the distribution system.
The process of empanelment was initiated by the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) in August, 2009. R-Infra was empanelled out of 12 applicants.
