R-Power's Rosa unit begins production

Reliance Power (R-Power) announced the commencement of power generation from 300 Mw Unit II of its Rosa Power Project.

According to a company statement, the Unit II of Rosa Power plant has been successfully synchronised to the UP State Grid on June 15, 2010 and has commenced the generation of power.

Reliance Power's wholly-owned subsidiary Rosa Power Supply Company is setting up 1,200 Mw Rosa Power Plant in Shahjahanpur, UP.

Unit I of the Rosa Power plant was commissioned in December 2009. The company is developing three ultra mega-power projects at Sasan, Tiliaya and Krishnapatnam.
