R Systems net up
 
R Systems net profit reached Rs 5.81 crore for the third quarter ended September 2006 while the revenues stood at Rs 54.25 crore.
 
In the previous quarter net profit was Rs 5.31 crore, an increase of 9.8 per cent in the September quarter on a sequential basis. Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the quarter was Rs 4.29 compared with Rs 4.09 in the June quarter.
 
During the quarter, the company added 24 new customers, and the total number associates increased to 1,544 compared with 1,104 on September 5 and 1,260 at the end of June 30, 2006.
 
"We are pleased with the progress we are making and feel confident that our strong foundation will help us surpass achieve Rs 200 crore in revenues," said Rekhi Singh, managing director and chairman.
 
Ceat net at Rs 4 cr
 
Tyre manufacturer Ceat reported net profit at Rs 3.83 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, against net loss of Rs 3.97 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
Income from operations increased by 19.56 per cent for the second quarter of the fiscal at Rs 537.57 crore compared with last year's total of Rs 449.60 crore.
 
The improvement in operating margin despite sharp increase in the cost of inputs has been mainly on account of increase in sale of higher value added products and sustained effort towards achieving cost optimization.
 
Oberoi net up 24%
 
The East India Hotels-promoted Oberoi Hotels has posted 241 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 27 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared with Rs 8 crore in the previous corresponding quarter.
 
During the quarter under review, EIH's total income grew by 30 per cent to Rs 208 crore from Rs 160 crore in the same quarter of 2005-06. Growth in profits was driven by higher occupancies and revenue per room during the period.
 
Blow Plast in the black
 
Blow Plast has posted net profit at Rs 16 lakh for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared with Rs 4 lakh loss in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Net sales and income from operations for the quarter was Rs 42.74 crore compared with Rs 36.45 crore in 2005, up by 17.25 per cent. The company said profit improved due to increased focus on the retail channel.
 
Aristocrat net dips 19%
 
Aristocrat Luggage reported net profit at Rs 4..45 lakh for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, 19.96 per cent lower compared with Rs 5.56 lakh for the corresponding quarter in 2005.
 
Net sales and income from operation increased 18.58 per cent at Rs 14.29 crore compared with Rs 12.05 crore in 2005. The company also undertook a one-time VRS payment this quarter.
