The US-based Radisson Hotels is all set to enter the Indian spa market. The group has tied-up to manage a five-star spa promoted by entrepreneur Vinay Phadnis.

The Rs 50-crore, 120-room spa is being developed and promoted by Pune-based construction company Sahil Resort and is being touted as Asia's largest spa.

Sahil and Radisson may announce their tie-up on Thursday. At present, Radisson is managing seven hotels including a resort in Goa. This would be the first five-star facility at Alibaug.

"Apart from ayurvedic therapies, the spa would offer Thai and Swedish therapies," Phadnis said. The ayurvedic therapies are developed by well-known Ayurvedacharya Shrikant Bagiwadekar. The spa would also offer a ninehole mini golf course and a cricket pitch.

The spa is expected to be operational by August. This would give it the advantage of the tourist season starting at the end of monsoon. It expects around 30000 guests in the first year.
