Ramco Systems inks IT solutions deal with Malaysia Airlines

The tenure of the deal is for five years that includes managing service components

IT solutions provider Ramco Systems has signed a pact with Malaysia Airlines for providing a suite of enterprise-wide engineering solutions, including aircraft maintenance, operations and overhaul services, among others.

"This advanced solution, which integrates business processes and people, will serve the entire engineering functions for Malaysia Airlines group including Firefly, MASwings and MASkargo and also support its maintenance, repair and overhaul services," Ramco Systems said in a statement.

Though the size of the deal was not disclosed, the tenure is for five years that includes managing service components, it said.

The deal will help Malaysia Airlines to improve its aviation business processes, optimise fleet management and give advance updates on MRO and engineering matters, the statement said.

By integrating business processes and people, our operations will become more connected...," Malaysia Airlines' Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said.

"Our partnership with Malaysia Airlines is a major milestone and an endorsement of the immense effort that Ramco has invested to develop a suite of solutions which have been used by some of the largest carriers in the world," Ramco Systems Chief Executive Officer Virendar Aggarwal said.

From the cockpit to the tarmac and the hangar, Malaysia Airlines engineering and MRO operations can now be integrated more effectively while corporate functions like human resources, payroll and optimisation can be streamlined, he said.

Built for the aviation sector, Ramco Aviation Suite caters to airlines, rotor wing operators, air cargo and third party MROs.

The solution helps aviation businesses bring in best practices into engineering and maintenance operations and reduce overhead costs, the statement added.
