The government has asked C Rangarajan, chairman of Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, to scrutinize CBM gas price proposals of RIL and Essar Oil.
There was a wide discrepancy in the price proposals of both the companies and we had written to the Prime Minister and it has been referred to Rangarajan, petroleum minister Jaipal Reddy said.
He said that while Essar Oil had arrived at a price of $4.2 per unit, RIL’s price was around $12.
