After unveiling the car a year and a half ago at the Auto Expo, Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors will hand over the keys of the Nano to its first customer tomorrow at the Tata Motors owned showroom in Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

Names of the 100,000 customers, who have been finalised for allotment of the Nano through the computerised procedure, was announced by the company last month.

Due to production constraints deliveries of the car can only be completed by the last quarter of 2010, however the company has promised to meet its target earlier than that date.

The Nano will be produced at two locations - Sanand in Gujarat and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. As work on the construction of the Gujarat plant, which will also be the mother plant of the car, in still underway, all Nano's will be produced at the Pantnagar facility.

The company had stated earlier that the Sanand facility will become operational by early 2010.
