Ratnamani Metals and Tubes Ltd, an Ahmedabad-based provider of piping solutions, plans to increase production capacity of power plant application stainless steel tubes by 2,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The capacity addition will take place at its manufacturing unit in Gandhidham. The company intends to raise the capacity of power plant application stainless tubes with an investment of Rs. 40 crore.
"The capacity expansion will be completed by the end of March 2010", said a top company officials.
Ratnamani's unit at Gandhidham in Kutch currently produces various types of tubes and it has a capacity of 17,000 MT. "Huge investments are happening in power sector. In order to meet the growing demand of power plant application stainless tubes, the company has decided to hike the capacity", the official added. The total production capacity of the company in this category is 23,000 MT. In case of carbon steel pipes, its production capacity is 3,50,000 MT.
Recently, the company has bagged orders from GAIL aggregating to Rs. 152 crore for gas transmission and distribution projects.
The company achieved a total turnover of Rs. 951 crore in fiscal 2008-09 and it is eying a topline of Rs. 1,000 crore in 2009-10.
Ratnamani operates three manufacturing facilities in Gujarat, which include two at Chhatral near Ahmedabad and one at Gandhidham in Kutch district.
