Rayalaseema Paper seeks govt support

The management of Rayalaseema Paper Mills today sought the support of the state government in its efforts to revive the factory by providing tax concessions and other sops.
 
The Board of Industrial Financial Reconstruction(BIFR) had recently cleared a revival package for the mill, which was closed in the year 1997.
 
Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy assured the management of the company that the government would extend the support available under the new industrial policy.
 
The mill management presented a cheque to the workers' union leaders towards two months salary through the chief minister on this occasion.
 
Company managing director V V Satyasai Prasad said that 200 workers would be taken back into work initially and their strength would be increased to 1,000 in a period of one year.
 
The company would give 50 per cent salary to those workers who wait for their turn to rejoin the work, he said.
