Raymond back in black, earns Rs 42.57 cr in Q3

Raymond, a multi-product company with interests in textiles, apparels and retail, today announced a net profit of Rs 42.57 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009.

It had a net loss of Rs 15.20 crore in the December quarter last fiscal, Raymond said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income grew to Rs 375.90 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 357.88 crore during the same period previous year, it said.

For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2009, it earned a net profit of Rs 18.40 crore whereas it incurred a net loss of Rs 32.46 crore in the same period previous year.

 

Total income rose to Rs 1017.98 crore in the nine-month period under review from Rs 1036.37 crore during the same period a year ago.

It operates Raymond brand in textile industry and has a retail presence in the form of The Raymond Shop.

It also has its presence in tools and auto component segment. Auto Components segment includes starter gear, shaft bearings and sheet metal components. Others segment includes aviation and home living.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 229.95, down 2.95 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
