Raymond Limited, India’s leading textile manufacturer and retailer, unveiled its economy-brand ‘makers’ in Chandigarh for the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. The fabric would be available at the multibrand outlets.

Ram Bhatnagar, vice-president (emerging businsses) of Raymond Limited, said that the growing brand consciousness among the buyers in suburbs and the rising disposable incomes would help them to carve a niche for ‘makers’ in the small towns.

The company would offer the product in the special packages to suit the requirements for the wedding purposes, as it was an important market segment for the middle income group. The capacities at Jalgaon manufacturing unit in Maharashrta would meet the requirement for the production of the new range, he added.

The company targets to capture 4 per cent to 5 per cent of the market share by the end of 2012-13 in the economy segment with the rollout of the new brand, Bhatnagar added.
