Raymond To Retail Durables, Shuts Helene Curtis Unit

The Singhanias-controlled Raymond group has shut down the manufacturing unit of JK Helene Curtis, its cosmetics arm, shifting the focus to outsourcing and marketing.

As part of the recast move, the group today also announced its entry into consumer durables retailing through a separate company, Plugin Sales. The company plans to set up 120 retail shops across the country in three years.

The Raymond group holds 60 per cent in the new company while the rest will be held by a team of professionals, mostly senior executives of consumer durable companies, who have conceived the idea. Raymond
