RCF bags Rs 38 crore order from Mali, Senegal

Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala has got an order to supply 50 interlinked coaches for Rs 38 crore to two African countries, Senegal and Mali.
 
The company had earlier supplied coaches to Myanmar.
 
"We have already exported 36 MG Coaches to Myanmar for Rs 19.26 crore and an export order of 20 coaches worth Rs 11.45 crore for suburban railways services in Senegal was under execution" Pratap Srivastava, General Manager of the RCF told Business Standard.
 
He revealed that the factory has manufactured 1263 coaches, the highest ever, in the last financial year and a total of 16,639 coaches till March 31,2006. Besides this, RCF has manufactured 32 AC coaches for the Indian Army, he added.
 
He said that the rail ministryhad sanctioned Rs 141.5 crore as capital investment for the procurement of machinery and expansion of RCF's capacity to 14,000 coaches.
 
At present, the RCF is completing the challenging task of manufacturing wagons for "Garib Rath", which was recently inspected by the railway minister.
