Reliance Communications today said it has bagged contracts to develop telecom infrastructure in Kerala, Mumbai and Maharashtra circles.
Company sources said the firm would build infrastructure for mGovernance, which help provide real time police information, updates on land records and civil services through voice, GPRS, Bluetooth, SMS and 3G technologies. RCOM will team with local value added services (VAS) partners to implement the projects and connect various government departments on the mobile data platform.
When contacted, a Reliance Communications spokesperson confirmed the development but declined to divulge the financials of the contracts. He said the company is working with local VAS business associates in Kerala, Mumbai and Maharastra circles to establish mGovernance infrastructure.
According to market estimates, the annual revenue will be over Rs 900 crore from these mGovernance projects.
The company is also in discussions for mGovernance infrastructure contracts for Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka, sources said.
