Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications posted a 43.49% dip in net profit at Rs 252 crore for the second quarter ended September, 2011.
The company, country's second biggest mobile operator by subscribers, posted net profit for the September quarter last year was posted at Rs 446 crore.
This is the ninth straight quarter that the debt-laden telco has reported lower profits.
Net sales for the quarter have reduced to Rs 4,689 crore, down 5.71% from Rs 4,973 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Total income for the quarter under review has marginally decreased by 1.53% to Rs 5,040 crore from Rs 5,118 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
The shares of the telecom firm ended down by 0.18% at Rs 83.50 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange yesterday.
