ADA Group company Reliance Communications (RCom) today announced plans to roll-out a next generation mobile portal, R World, for delivering mobile Internet and data services to its over 125 million customers.
RCom will use Motricity's m-Core platform to deliver advanced services and applications on its 3G, GSM and CDMA mobile platforms.
"We believe the future of mobile experiences is going to be based on the delivery of highly personalised offerings which include localised content, delivered to our customers in their native language," RCom's 3G Business Head Prashant Gokarn said in a statement.
"Motricity’s mCore Platform provides us the scale and the capabilities we need to deliver on this vision," said Gokarn.
RCom intends to offer a new multi-lingual R-World that will offer personalisation option in Hindi, followed by other regional languages. R-World has been designed to deliver content and applications on the mobile platform.
RCom will offer location-based services that help mobile subscribers find places they are looking for in the area they are in, or passing through, at any given time.
"Through the delivery of highly relevant experiences, Reliance will be in position to delight and retain its customers, and further monetise these offerings through the marketing of targeted mobile value added services, as well as, targeted mobile marketing and advertising campaigns," said Motricity CEO Ryan Wuerch.
