REC Q3 net up 42% at Rs 319 cr

State-run power sector lending institution Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) today said its standalone net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, rose by 41.63 per cent to Rs 318.65 crore.

The company had a net profit of Rs 224.98 crore for the same quarter last fiscal, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Standalone total income of the company rose to Rs 1,275.42 crore for the quarter under review, as against Rs 868.61 crore for the same quarter corresponding year.

For the nine-month ended December 31, the company has posted a standalone net profit of Rs 884.04 crore, as against Rs 825.05 crore in the same period last fiscal.

 

Shares of the REC settled at Rs 75.90, up 1.27 per cent on the BSE.
