As part of its drive to become a full-fledged apparel brand, Reid & Taylor, the premium fabric tag of S Kumars Nationwide (SKNL), will launch a jeans line in a month. The line will be marketed under R&T Leisures, the brand's casuals range.

"The jeans will be either made of denim or cotton bottom base. This is part of the brand's drive to reposition itself to offer total wardrobe solutions for male executives in the 25-45 year age group," said Govind Mirchandani, CEO, worseted suiting, SKNL. Reid & Taylor is the number two player in the country's premium fabric market.

The textile company is expecting a Rs 500 crore revenue from its apparel business in the "next few years."

While R&T's fabric business alone is currently worth Rs 200 crore, another Rs 100 crore is expected to be generated from its apparel section within three years, added Mirchandani.

The company is also set to expand its R&T retail network and will add another 170 exclusive outlets to the present 20.

"Apart from these, R&T's fabric and apparel lines will also be available in large format stores such as Central, Pyramid and Shoppers Stop and in multi-brand stores," said Mirchandani. Almost half of the to-be launched new outlets will be company run.
