Reliance Infrastructure, the infrastructure arm of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has emerged as the sole bidder for 135 kms green field Eastern Peripheral Expressway project covering Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

The project, which is on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis, would entail an investment of Rs 2,676 crore. It involves construction of green field six lane expressway with access control highway connecting Faridabad-Noida-Gaziabad-Sonepat and it will also act as bypass to Delhi with a concession period of 20 years.

The project is specifically designed to decongest Delhi traffic under High Court instructions. Once operational, the new expressway will ease traffic congestion, drastically cut travel time and ensure safe and comfortable movement of traffic. The project will take the Reliance Infrastructure road portfolio to 601 kms worth Rs 6,500 crore.

At present, the company is in the advanced stages of the four-laning of five National Highway projects in Tamil Nadu, covering a length of 400 kms at a cost of Rs 3,100 crore.

The company has earlier bagged the four laning of Gurgoan-Faridabad road and up-gradation of Ballabgarh-Sohana road on BOT basis. The project is expected to be completed in 2 years.
