ADAG firm Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE) Group today said it has entered into an alliance with Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's production company Playtone for an animated e-series, online social game and mobile application.
RBE, the flagship media and entertainment arm of Anil Ambani Group, together with Playtone will create 'Electric City', a multi-platform digital entertainment project, RBE said in a statement.
Zapak, the gaming arm of RBE, will spearhead and manage the entire project, it added.
"We are sure Reliance's strength in the entertainment space combined with Zapak's expertise in the digital world, and Playtone's demonstrated creative and production acumen, will create an exciting and magical experience in the digital space," ADAG's Amitabh Jhunjhunwala said in a statement.
'Electric City' will offer a tempting view of the future of civilisation, through themes like energy consumption, freedom of information, crime and punishment, the statement said.
It is also looking forward to strategic partnerships with leading global companies in video distribution, social gaming and mobile applications.
Playtone is Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's production firm which boasts of movies like Mamma Mia!, Charlie Wilson's War, The Polar Express and Golden Globe nominated HBO series Big Love.
