Reliance Cap net up 709% to Rs 286 cr

Reliance Capital reported net profit of Rs 286 crore on a total income of Rs 322 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2006.
 
Net profit for the quarter was 709 per cent higher than the Rs 35 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last year. Total income stood at Rs 84 crore, the company said.
 
The company's board has approved a dividend of Rs 3.20 per share, which translates into a dividend payout of Rs 81 crore.
 
The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group (R-ADAG) company's net profit for the full year ended March 2006 stood at Rs 538 crore, 408 per cent higher than Rs 106 crore a year ago. Total income for the year was 121 per cent higher at Rs 652 crore against Rs 295 crore.
 
The company's consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter was Rs 572 crore against Rs 36 crore a year earlier. Total assets stood at Rs 4,467 crore.
 
During the year, the company made a preferential offer of equity shares/equity related securities to Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises and long-term institutional investors amounting to Rs 2,673 crore. The company is virtually debt free with a debt equity ratio of 0.06 per cent as on March 31, 2006.
 
At the end of 2005-06, the company's investment portfolio was Rs 2,588 crore. Total assets of the company at the end of the year was Rs 4,467 crore.
 
RCL's earnings per share (EPS) in 2005-06 was Rs 29.7 against Rs 8.3 a year earlier. The consolidated EPS was Rs 31.6. As on March 31, 2006, the net worth of RCL stood at Rs 4,123 crore. On conversion of outstanding equity warrants, the net worth will increase to over Rs 4,568 crore.
 
Meanwhile, Reliance Capital today said all its shareholders will receive one share of the Adlabs FM radio business for every six shares held. This follows Adlabs' announcement to demerge its FM radio business.
