Reliance Capital net up 37%

Reliance Capital (RCL) today registered 37 per cent increase in the group's consolidated quarterly profits ended December 31, 2006, to Rs 92.17 crore as against Rs 67.33 crore a year ago.
 
However, on the stand-alone basis the company recorded 11 per cent rise in its quarterly profits to Rs 72.57 crore from Rs 64.98 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Total income of the group grew 190 per cent to Rs 436.05 crore, which stood at Rs 149.90 crore in the year-ago period. Total income increased 46 per cent to Rs 121.24 crore for the quarter ended December 31, where as the same was at Rs 82.82 crore previous year.
 
The Anil Ambani-controlled RCL group has mutual funds and insurance businesses, run through group companies. These businesses also marked significant growth
 
Reliance Capital Asset Management's assets under management, increased to Rs 36,928 crore as on December 31 from Rs 15,238 crore as on December 31, 2005, the company said here today.
