Reliance Digital, one of the eight format stores of Reliance Retail, plans to extend its presence all over the state by opening one dozen outlets in the coming months. |
Reliance Digital's first outlet in the state was opened in Bangalore on Monday. This is the third outlet for Reliance Digital countrywide with the other two stores located in Ghaziabad and Mumbai. |
The stores offer technology solutions in the field of consumer electronics, home appliances, information technology and telecommunications. Spread over 23,000 sq ft, the Reliance Digital store in Bangalore will offer over 4,000 products of 150 brands. |
"The organised retail in Karnataka is growing at a healthy 25 per cent. We intend to open 10-12 stores over the next 16-20 months. Five of those stores will be located in Bangalore," Nitish Tipnis, Head-Operations (CDIT), Reliance Industries, said. |
It is also looking at opening stores in Mysore, Hubli and Belgaum. "All our stores will have sufficient space (20,000 square feet). The customer reachout potential in Karnataka is encouraging," he added. |
Tipnis said Reliance Digital plans to open 60 outlets by 2009 across the country. "We want to have a fair share of presence across all format of stores. In hypermarkets, we are looking at spaces in the range of 8,000-12,000 square feet," he stated. |
"The mega stores will remain open seven days a week. It will continue to offer all its customers RelianceOne, a common membership and loyalty programme across all formats. Reliance Digital will also provide easy and attractive finance options for the purchases," Ajai Baijal, President & Chief Executive- Reliance Industries (CDIT Business), said. |
Reliance Digital also announced the launch of 'RelianceresQ', an end-to-end solution to all technology products. "RelianceresQ, through a network of in-house service centres, will provide the consumers with pre-sales and post-sales support services," Baijal added. |
