Reliance Fresh opens 4 more stores in Jaipur

Reliance Retail Ltd is on an expansion spree in Jaipur, with the company announcing the opening of four more Reliance Fresh stores, taking the total number of stores launched in the city to 11.

The four new stores are located at New Sanganer Road, Mahesh Nagar, Vidhyadhar Nagar and Vaishali Nagar in the city. Reliance Fresh began its operations in north India with the launch of five stores in the Pink City on December 15 and soon expanded to 7 in January 2007 with two stores at Raja Park and Malviya Nagar.

"We are extremely happy to reach a cross-section of customers. We will continue to deliver affordable goods, maintain quality and wide choice of products and services to the consumer. We will also fine tune our offering by listening to the consumers and learning from them," said Umesh Bhandari, chief executive, Rajasthan, Reliance Retail Ltd.

Reliance Fresh will carry fresh fruits and vegetables, staple food items, grocery, dairy products, telecom products and several products in other categories at competitive prices.

Reliance Fresh has also added a range of fast-moving consumer goods including baby care products, fabric care , soaps, skin care products, and fashion jewellery in the New Sanganer Road and Vidhyadhar Nagar stores.

"More such categories are expected to be added in another set of stores to be launched shortly," Bhandari said.

"Our stores are becoming popular and this can be gauged from the fact that in just over 100 days of its first launch, the company at Jaipur has already signed up 100,000 customers for 'Reliance One', a membership and loyalty programme designed to deliver customised benefits to frequent shoppers," Bhandari said.

Customers could sign up for membership instantly and earn 1 RelianceOne Point for every Rs 100 spent, he said All the stores so far opened here have an average of about 20 sales associates attending to the customers in each store.

Reliance Fresh entered Ahmedabad on April 10 with the opening of nine outlets on a single day bringing the total to 115 stores in all and the total square foot area of Reliance stores across the country to approximately 300,000 square feet.

Reliance Retail plans to open more stores this year across the country and will eventually have a pan-India presence. Apart from the Reliance Fresh brand of stores, the company will roll out other pilot formats in the next few months.
