There are about 115 Reliance fuel retail outlets, of which almost 35 are company-owned and the rest are owned and operated by dealers.
Following mounting losses by selling fuel above the subsidised retail prices of state-owned oil-marketing companies, RIL recently closed down its outlets.
Yesterday, RIL officials held a meeting in Lucknow with about 35 dealers. Similar meetings are also lined up at other places in UP, including Varanasi and Allahabad.
According to a harried dealer, each outlet entailed an investment of Rs 3-4 crore and following its closure, they were incurring losses on their investment, besides foregoing their source of income.
"We have invested money and taken bank loans to start the dealership and wish the issue is resolved at the earliest," he added.

Sources said the company was yet to make a formal proposal for the future course of action before the dealers at Lucknow. "The officials tried to seek our suggestions and listen to our grievances following the closure," the source informed.
Earlier, the company had said it was suspending retail operations because of the lack of a level playing field.
