Reliance Industries has set up 274 petrol stations in the country till date, petroleum minister Mani Shankar Aiyar said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha today. Reliance, which operates a 33 million tonne refinery at Jamnagar in Gujarat, has set up most of its outlets in western India - 59 in Gujarat, 27 in Rajasthan and 33 in Maharashtra. It has also set up 35 petrol stations in Andhra Pradesh, 30 in Uttar Pradesh and 20 each in Punjab and Tamil Nadu. Aiyar also said that Essar Oil, the only other private sector oil retailer besides Reliance, has set up 230 petrol stations - 68 in Gujarat, 66 in Maharashtra, 16 each in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, 15 in Punjab and 14 in Haryana. |
